Things are moving so fast at the moment that we can barely keep up! At the time of writing, here are some further places you can listen to our music (iTunes you already know about):

Ruckus (http://www.ruckus.com/ruckus/music/album.do?from=search&albumId=1416990)

BuyMusic (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=206484996&loc=18250)

We’re also on Napster, but as we’re not subscribers we can’t provide a link. We’re the top result if you search for “The Home Guard”, though.

If you’re a member of any of these services, why not write a nice glowing review if you can spare the time? As always, we’re keen to know what you think!

We should be added to even more download services soon, and we’ll try to keep you posted.

The Home Guard are proud to announce that A Head of Steam – our debut album – is now available to download from the iTunes music store.

This link should take you straight there (assuming you have iTunes installed, of course):

It’s still early days in the life of our site (in fact, we’re not even registered on all search engines yet), but this news has left us unbelievably excited and optimistic for the future. If nothing else, we are sort of immortalised already. (At least, we’ve never heard of iTunes deleting music voluntarily.)

But while we allow the shock to sink in fully, we would be indebted to anyone who finds time to write us a glowing review on iTunes. You don’t even have to buy the album – you can listen to it all for free right on this site! Can you say fairer than that?

Many thanks in advance to anyone that chooses to do so.

Possibly the best internet resource for aspiring musicians is CD Baby, and we’re proud to announce the unveiling of our page on their site: http://cdbaby.com/cd/homeguard.

Our CD is available to buy for $12.97 there, though more intriguingly they offer high bitrate DRM-free mp3s (you know, how all downloads should be) of the whole album for only $9.99. That’s around five pounds, which is great value.

By far the best thing about CD Baby is that they distribute our music to numerous download sites – so expect to find The Home Guard on iTunes, Napster et al quite soon. Seriously.

While on the site, if you have time, please leave a review of our music, and be sure to support the community by checking out other new acts.

Don’t forget to spread the word!

We hate to go all cryptic on you, but within the next week there should be an exciting new development on this site. So keep watching this space.

Meanwhile, we’ve been up for less than a week, and early opinions of our music are promising.

BUT

It seems that everyone is too shy to post their views for all to see!

Come on people – whether you like the music or not; whether you have praise or constructive criticism; whatever you think, if you have time, please post your opinions in our guestbook or forum (you don’t have to register for either).

Many thanks to those that do.

As of last night, The Home Guard can be found on both MySpace.com and ReverbNation.com.

It may be a cliche, but if an independent band wants a chance to be noticed, then MySpace is the place to be. If you want to send us a friend request, our page is at www.myspace.com/thehomeguardinfo. Please be aware that there is another band on MySpace called The Home Guard, which is why we’ve got “info” on the end (to mimic our official site URL).

Also, in trying to add our music to our FaceBook account, we found ourselves signing up for ReverbNation. It seems to be a lot better than MySpace in so many ways that we’re baffled as to why we’ve never heard of it before. Anyway, you can check us out at www.reverbnation.com/thehomeguard.

See you there!

After far too long spent building the site, it has finally gone live and the world can hear our music. We hope you like it.

Down the line, we hope to add many new features, such as our lyrics, artwork, photos, bio, and, of course, new music as and when it materialises. But if you wait until things are totally finished and perfect before showing anyone else, things don’t happen.

So, for the time being, hop on over to the music page and have a quick listen to A Head of Steam, our debut album. If you like it, great. If you don’t, never mind. Either way, please tell us what you think.

Enjoy!
