New video for Champagne Socialist

News @ 12 June 2009, “2 Comments”

We will forever be indebted to our Last.fm friend vjsupersaint for putting together this video for us:

The footage (which is in the public domain, before anyone kicks up a fuss) is taken from the 1921 Buster Keaton film, The Playhouse.

Thanks again, Mike!

EDIT: It seems that certain sites – including Facebook and Last.fm – strip out embedded videos from news feeds, rendering the above pretty useless if you’re reading this blog on there. Sorry! So, to see the vid, you can go here:

I don’t understand why you would put this one up. It makes no sense in relation to the lyric. I like the other one much more! Will this guy be doing the video for your new album?
    I really love this song!

    Thanks for your kind words!

In truth, we’re in no position to make videos for ourselves, so literally *anyone* could be doing the videos for any songs on either of our albums. :-) And, as beggars can’t be choosers, we leave the choice of subject matter to the editor (within reasonable bounds of taste and decency, of course).

So far, Robert Grimes, Eira Storbråten and now Mike Walls have honoured us by creating vids for us, and we’re grateful to all of them and hope they’ll see fit to make more in the future. Thanks guys!
