Ten thousand MySpace plays

News @ 22 December 2008, “3 Comments”

We’re over the moon that our MySpace player ticked over the 10000 plays mark today.

Since launching in November 2007, we’ve reached more listeners and built up a far larger fanbase than we ever imagined we would. The vast majority of plays came this year since we uploaded Champagne Socialist in January. In fact, this song accounts for 54% of all our plays!

That said, Walking Against the Wind, The Orator and Rendezvous have all notched up 1000+ plays for themselves.

We really can’t thank you enough, and never forget that none of this would be possible without YOU.

If anyone reading this hasn’t added us on MySpace yet, you can visit our page here:

Incidentally, while we’re on the subject, Dan will be taking over the running of our profile for the next couple of weeks while I concentrate on working on the new album. So this is your chance to ask the writer, singer, guitarist. saxophonist and flautist of The Home Guard anything you like!

Gosh! You guys are so popular! ; )

In one year only, and you didn’t even try. How ironic! :D

It’s the music. Thank your music! It’s what attracted me, and all of your other promoters! Speaking of which, I found you through a “Rate a song from the artist above you” thread – which, you weren’t the artist directly above me – but like 2 people had both said some mighty nice things about “Champagne Socialist” so I dared to wander to your page… hahahahaha! Look at the outcome of that! You got 2 fanclubs for the price of doing 1 song review for whoever was above you! Oh, how the world turns doesn’t it?

Keep up the great music guys!! Can’t wait for the new album!

Speaking of how I found you (or how you found me – I saw what Ian has written above..)

You send me a shout with the song Champagne Socialist on Last.fm! I listened to the song once, and thinking “this song is good, but, no more than that..”
And then, over a month later I found Champagne Socialist on my computer and listened to it again, and the other songs on last.fm/myspace/this page, I don’t remember. And then I realise how great your music actually is. Everything about it; the lyric, the timing, the effects, the production and the music all together! (This is some unusual great music – I know I’ve said it before, but I can’t say it enough, right?) :D

Keep up the great work – can’t hardly wait for the next album!
